About the Author Ms. Dimitrakakis was born in Athens and has family roots in Rethymno, Crete. Parallel with her studies in Public Relations and in Human Resources Management, she became involved in the study of philosophy and psychology. She is a member of UNESCO, of the Greek Red Cross, of the National Forum of Poets for Peace. A business management executive, married with two children, she is also interested in classical athletics. As a 10,000-meter distance runner and has won a silver medal in the National Road Race of Messenia in 2005. Ms. Dimitrakakis is also a noted journalist who has written articles in both Greek and English. She has served, too, as a judge for the Panhellenic Union of Writers, for UNESCO, and for the Greek National Forum of Poets for Peace. In Crete, she is a columnist for the newspaper ""Cretan Review" of Rethymno, for the "Chania News," the periodical "Crete," and for various other literary newspapers and journals.
