Metropolitan Methodios of Boston and Cardinal Sean O’Malley of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston will lead an Ecumenical Pilgrimage to Rome and Constantinople from September 16-23, 2007 with an optional excursion to St. Petersburg, Russia from September 23-26, 2007. “Cardinal O’Malley and I look forward to this Pilgrimage as yet another manifestation of our shared commitment to advance along the road towards the re-establishment through God’s Grace of full communion between our two Churches,” said Metropolitan Methodios. “This is the second such Orthodox-Roman Catholic Pilgrimage jointly sponsored by our Churches here in Boston. Those brethren who participated in the first pilgrimage in 1996 have fond memories which they will cherish for the rest of their lives.” |

Travel arrangements for the Pilgrimage are made through Clipper Travel in Scituate, MA. The group will depart Boston for Rome on Sunday evening, September 16, 2007, fly from Rome to Istanbul on Thursday, September 20, 2007 until Sunday, September 23, 2007. Those not going to St. Petersburg will return to Boston on Sunday, September 23, 2007. For those who would wish to extend their trip to include St. Petersburg, we will depart for St. Petersburg on Sunday, September 23, 2007, and return to Boston on Wednesday, September 26, 2007. Lufthansa is the air carrier of record. Motor coaches will be provided for airport transfers and for the tours that will be scheduled. There will also be optional “on your own” tours. All breakfasts and one “family” dinner in each city will be included. We will be staying at good, centrally located hotels for which taxes and porterage will be included. |

Some of the highlights of the Pilgrimage will be a general audience with Pope Benedict XV1, a Mass at the Crypt of St. Peter, Sistine Chapel, a visit to Agia Sophia and a Patriarchal Great Vesper. For those who wish to extend their trip to include St. Petersburg, a visit to the Hermitage will be included.. |

The cost per person on the Rome/Constantinople Pilgrimage is $3500.00 based on double occupancy. The per person cost on the Rome/Constantinople/St. Petersburg Pilgrimage is $4500.00 based on double occupancy. A single supplement will apply for those who choose this option. First deposit of $500.00 per person is due no later than February 15, 2007. Second deposit of $1000.00 per person is due no later than April 1, 2007. Final payment is due no later than 16 June 2007. Trip cancellation insurance will be available for purchase. All costs are based on double occupancy. All flight seats are coach. If you wish an upgrade to business class, please let us know. You must have a valid US passport with a 6month validity past date of departure. If you are not a US citizen, please advise us. We will advise you with regard to visa requirements. |
