Fotini Katsaounis Passes Away

KATSAOUNIS, Fotini, 89, of Wethersfield, beloved widow of Angelo Katsaounis, died Saturday, (December 10, 2005). She was born in Fteri, Greece and immigrated to the U.S. in 1936. She had lived in Hartford before moving to Wethersfield in 1960. Mrs. Katsaounis was a longtime member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, a member of the Ladies of Philoptochos. She was a loving, kind and gentle women, who was so loved by everyone she met. She was considered a close friend and surrogate mother to everyone. The center of her life was family and church and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Helen K. Limnios of Wethersfield with whom she made her home, two grandchildren, Ann Gail Limnios of Wethersfield, and Peter Limnios of San Francisco, CA. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, William Limnios, a sister, Georgia, four brothers, Polychroni, Vasili, Yanni and Theodore all in Greece. The funeral will be Wednesday, December 14, 10 a.m. in St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Ave., Hartford with The Very Rev. Archimandrite John A. Heropoulos officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Visiting hours will be TODAY, 4-8 p.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral with a Trisayion Service at the church at 7 p.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to: St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, for the St. Nektarios Shrine Fund, 433 Fairfield Ave., Hartford, CT 06114.
